The first annual Myrtle & Emil Jaech Symposium, will be held March 21, 2019, 8:30 AM-4:30 PM at Peace Lutheran Church, 1525 Glen Creek Rd., Salem, OR 97304.

Oakman is the author of five books and numerous articles utilizing social science approaches to the Bible. Most recently, he published "The Political Aims of Jesus" (Fortress Press, 2012) and "Jesus, Debt, and the Lord’s Prayer" (Cascade Books, 2014). He will give two lecture presentations (morning and afternoon) lunch at the church, response panel. 

Pastor Emil Jaech and his wife Myrtle touched the lives of many people in the Northwest, especially during his tenure as NW District President, and continued to serve our Lord as members of Peace after his retirement. 

With a designated gift as seed money, Peace is honored to offer this symposium to energize mission and ministry and invites all pastors and lay leaders to attend.
